A Shadow Du Pin

Disappointed. We came last year and everything was perfect. That wasn't the case this time. The service on the terrace was nonexistent: we practically had to beg for bread and a carafe of water. The mixed grills were very good, but there was no food warmer, which made the end of the dish cold. We're still waiting for the dessert menu, and don't even get me started on my grandson's very small plate of pasta. I'm sorry, but we won't be back.

We came last Tuesday, a group of 12, and had a parillada – it was excellent. The staff and the owner were fantastic. We'll be back.

We reserved a table for six, which wasn't ready when we arrived. At that point, we were the first customers (11:50 am). We chose our dishes, and the waitress returned five minutes later to tell us that one of the dishes we'd chosen wasn't available that day. I ordered a dish with pasta. The dishes arrived much later; mine came with fries. I did get pasta later after letting the waitress know. The dessert menu was also significantly smaller than what was listed on the chalkboard. We managed to get dessert anyway. We left the restaurant at 2:00 pm, two hours after arriving, having been the first ones there. I wonder how the service ended, but many people must have been justifiably disappointed. The meal itself was quite decent, but the organization was unworthy of a restaurant. We would have at least expected an apology from the owner, but not this time!

Despite arriving early in the service, the wait was interminable (2 hours for a main course and dessert) and there were errors in the service. A complimentary digestif would have been the least they could do.
