Brasserie de la Place

The prices are a complete disgrace! Who do they think they are? In four days, we had drinks in different towns in the area, all at reasonable prices, except at this one place.

Avoid at all costs! Unpleasant staff, the dirtiest and most expensive brasserie in La Garde. The manager should change careers; it's time to retire.

Unpleasant staff, €4 for a Coke, and as mentioned in all the reviews, the toilets are supposedly out of order. I don't understand how people like that can run a business.

It doesn't even deserve one star. But I had to in order to leave a review. Whatever you do, don't go! I went to see Keen'V in concert on July 9, 2018. As soon as you sit down, they pounce on you, rushing you to order or you'll have to leave, the owner tells you. No hot drinks... It's only 8 PM. A glass of wine and a Coke cost €8. I ask the waiter the price of the Coke. He goes to ask the owner and comes back saying €4. That means a glass of rosé with two ice cubes is €4. Of course, these aren't the prices displayed! There's no surcharge anywhere. We ask for a ticket, impossible! And what's more, they only accept cash! We want to go to the restroom, but it's out of order. Apparently, the regulars say it's like this all the time.... And to top it all off, at the end of the concert, a group of 10 people sat down, ordered, and were served. Five minutes later, the owner came out, moved the chairs, and said, "We're closing." It was only 11 p.m..... THIS IS A COMPLAINT!!!!! The disgruntled customers made their voices heard..... What a disgrace, it's just a way to make money... The owner needs to find another line of work!!!! With that, we left, but we'll never be back!!!!

Is this even worth one star?! Disastrous experience at the free Keen'v concert on July 9, 2018, around 9:30 PM. The establishment, located opposite the Town Hall and the Podium, which opened after 7 PM for the occasion, must have made a killing that evening by blatantly ripping off customers and not issuing any receipts, as most tables spent at least €20! A 12cl glass of wine cost €4, the same for sodas and draft beers, for a simple bar whose restrooms were "out of order," as indicated on the glass door... According to comments and reactions from customers in Garde, this is typical behavior! Let's not even mention the other alcoholic drinks and Desperados, which must have cost around €10... The climax of the evening came around 10:35 PM when, after the concert ended, new customers on the packed terrace ordered, were served, and paid... only to be asked to leave after 5 minutes because the rather difficult owner had decided to close the bar, even though there was a great atmosphere on the terrace! Around 11:00 PM, in just 20 minutes, they managed to clear three-quarters of the terrace, practically lifting customers out of their seats... There were a few verbal exchanges from the customers, almost coming to blows, obviously, given the circumstances! And the police were there, but with their backs to the scene... We left the place, forever, around 11:20 PM, leaving behind a small group of "resisters" standing up to the owner! Enjoy the read...

The toilets are, coincidentally, always closed. The owner is awful, to say the least; she insults customers and refuses to seat them unless they're buying anything (we were a family of four, so we ordered four ice creams, and she threw them away because the parents weren't buying anything). Run away at all costs! It's unacceptable that such a business exists! Unless you enjoy being treated like an idiot by an old lady... I won't go into details, as that wouldn't be politically correct... The other café isn't any better.
